Miami Lighthouse Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse and dynamic
group of volunteers, who provide leadership and support to ensure the
vitality of the organization.
Miami Lighthouse has an experienced management team. Its CEO and other
senior management have demonstrated outstanding professional acumen in
their respective fields. This team is dedicated to offering the most
effective state-of-the-art techniques and care to persons who are blind or
severely visually impaired, as well as its new initiative in eye wellness.
Summary of Client Satisfaction Surveys
Young Professionals of the Lighthouse was established in 2003 to target young professionals between 25-40 years.
This volunteer group helps raise awareness and funds through various social activities in the community.
YPOL hosts social gatherings throughout the year for networking and raising funds for special Miami Lighthouse needs.
History of Miami Lighthouse
Founded in 1931 as the Florida Association of Workers for the Blind, Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired has changed more than just its name during its nearly ninety year history as Florida's premier rehabilitation organization serving the blind. Miami Lighthouse now serves nearly 17,000 people each year and reaches an additional 3,300 through community education and outreach programs.
